Our Story
Where wisdom meets practical transformation
The Name Stoa
The name Stoa comes from ancient Greece.
The Stoa was a covered walkway, a place of refuge and clear thinking, where citizens gathered to work through their hardest problems together. It was where Stoic philosophy was born: the art of focusing on what you can control, and acting with wisdom, justice, courage, and temperance.
That is what we create for our clients: a space of clarity, where difficult conversations can happen, where human systems can be examined and healed, and where leaders can find the wisdom to build something better.

Monika Gietz
Stoa Advisory was founded by Monika Gietz, a corporate senior executive with over 20 years of leadership experience across Fortune 500 companies in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. Throughout her career, she led global teams through complex transformations, restructures, and cross-border integrations.
She is an accredited mediator and conflict resolution specialist (AMDRAS), skilled in psychosocial risk (ISO 45003) and a graduate in smart work design (Curtin University). She is a member of Chief Executive Women (CEW) Connect Australia, a certified Mental Health First Aider, and has completed studies at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and German, and serves clients across Europe, Australia, and beyond.
After two decades of leading teams through complexity and high-stakes change, she saw a consistent pattern: the organisations that invested in their people, building genuine psychological safety, trust, and resilient cultures, consistently outperformed those that didn't.
In an era of AI-driven transformation, where adaptability and innovation determine survival, the competitive advantage belongs to organisations where people feel safe enough to challenge, contribute, and do their best work.
Stoa Advisory was built to help organisations create exactly that. Strong, resilient structures where people and performance thrive together.
Our Mission
To help organisations design workplaces where people genuinely thrive. We believe human wellbeing and business success are not competing priorities. They're inseparable.
Our ultimate aim: healthier workplaces, stronger communities, and organisations that succeed because their people do.
Our Philosophy
We are guided by four principles, drawn from the Stoic tradition:
Wisdom
Knowing what truly matters. Distinguishing between symptoms and root causes, between compliance and thriving.
Justice
Treating people fairly, acting with integrity, building systems that are equitable and just.
Courage
Speaking truth, facing difficult conversations, leading with honesty even when it's uncomfortable.
Temperance
Self-regulation, balance, knowing when to push and when to pause. For ourselves and our teams.
These practices are embedded in our A.L.I.V.E. framework and lived in every engagement.
