Our Story

Where wisdom meets practical transformation

Our Mission

To help organisations navigate change, build leadership capability, and create the conditions where people and performance thrive together. We believe investing in people is not a cost. It is the strategy.

Our ultimate aim: resilient organisations, stronger teams, and leaders equipped to build cultures that deliver sustained results.

The Name Stoa

The name Stoa comes from ancient Greece.

The Stoa was a covered walkway, a place of refuge and clear thinking, where citizens gathered to work through their hardest problems together. It was where Stoic philosophy was born: the art of focusing on what you can control, and acting with wisdom, justice, courage, and temperance.

That is what we create for our clients: a space of clarity, where difficult conversations can happen, where workplaces can be examined and healed, and where leaders can find the wisdom to build something better.

Our Philosophy

We are guided by four principles, drawn from the Stoic tradition:

Wisdom

Knowing what truly matters. Distinguishing between symptoms and root causes, between compliance and thriving.

Justice

Treating people fairly, acting with integrity, building systems that are equitable and just.

Courage

Speaking truth, facing difficult conversations, leading with honesty even when it's uncomfortable.

Temperance

Self-regulation, balance, knowing when to push and when to pause. For ourselves and our teams.

These practices are embedded in our A.L.I.V.E. framework and lived in every engagement.

Monika Gietz, Founder of Stoa Advisory

Monika Gietz

Stoa Advisory was founded by Monika Gietz, a corporate senior executive with extensive leadership experience across Fortune 500 companies in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. Throughout her career, she led global teams through complex transformations, restructures, and cross-border integrations.

She holds a Master of Business (University of Applied Sciences Bremen) and a Diploma of Strategic Management (Macquarie Business School), with specialist qualifications in Psychosocial Risk Management (Bond University), Psychological Health and Safety at Work ISO 45003:2021 (Risk Training Professionals), Change Management Practitioner (PROSCI), SMART Work Design (Curtin University), Psychological Safety Leadership (Australian Institute of Management), and Human-Centered Design (IDEO U). She is an Accredited Mediator (Australian Dispute Centre), a certified Mental Health First Aider, and a member of Chief Executive Women (CEW) Connect Australia. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and German, and serves clients across Europe, Australia, and beyond.

After two decades of leading teams through complexity and high-stakes change, she saw a consistent pattern: the organisations that invested in their people, building genuine psychological safety, trust, and resilient cultures, consistently outperformed those that didn't.

In an era defined by constant change, digitalisation, and the rise of AI, the competitive advantage belongs to organisations where people feel safe enough to challenge, adapt, and do their best work. Where change is adopted, not resisted. Where leaders build capability, not just compliance.

Stoa Advisory was built to help organisations create exactly that. From supporting teams through complex transformation, to building the leadership capability that makes it all work.
